Darla Hogan, 63, lifelong panhandle resident, passed away Wednesday evening, August 20, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

The daughter of Sam and Minnie (Elliott) Cayton, she was born July 20, 1951 in Guymon. Darla attended the Plainview school in the Griggs Community, graduated from the Keyes High School with the Class of 1969, and graduated from Panhandle State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1973.

Moses Awoul 37 year old Liberal, Kansas resident passed away Wednesday August 13, 2014 in Wichita, Kansas.

Moses Mabil Awoul was born on April, 16 1977 in Kakuma, Sudan to Awoul Deng and Achoul Anijong Dhuor.

Moses was a part of the Lost Boys who traveled fifteen hundred miles from Sudan to Ethiopia. This was a movement that left twenty thousand boys either displaced or orphaned. Life was tough there, but Moses made a living as a shop keeper. He was a very good businessman.

The daughter of James and Eliza May (Madison) Yancy, she was born November 5, 1920 in Burkett, Texas.

Shirley Ann Walton, 76, of Guymon, passed away Tuesday morning August 12, 2014 at the Morton County Care Center in Elkhart, Kansas.

The daughter of Harley Lee and Baby Ruth (White) Martin, she was born January 4, 1938 in Ida, Louisiana.

She was married to Ray Walton on May 6, 1956 in Purcell, Oklahoma The family moved to Guymon from Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1966. Shirley was a homemaker, member of the Lifeway Christian Center and TOPS. She loved raising her children and going to church.

Hexiquio Rios, Jr., 25, of Las Vegas, Nevada formerly of Texhoma, passed away Saturday morning, August 9, 2014 as the result of an automobile accident in Las Vegas.

The son of Hexiquio and Ofelia (Gallegos) Rios, he was born November 28, 1988 in Guymon, Oklahoma. Hexiquio was raised in Texhoma, where he attended the Texhoma school system, graduating with the Class of 2008.

Hexiquio had been a resident of Las Vegas for the past four years, where he was attending college and working as a waiter.

Jacqueline Mae Shuler, 66, our hero, mother and best friend passed away on Sunday August 10, 2014 in the Memory Care Unit of Vintage Place in El Dorado, Kansas.
Jacque was born on March 2, 1948 in Guymon, Oklahoma to Clark Nelson Shuler. and Gladys Mae (Welch) Shuler. Jacque attended and graduated school in Guymon with the class of 1966. Go Tigers!
On April 27, 1968 Jacque was united in marriage to Pat Moore. This union produced two children, Becky Deanne Moore and Philip Daniel Moore. The marriage ended in divorce after 15 years.

Larry Lee Furr, 60, of Tyrone, Oklahoma passed away August 9, 2014 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.
Larry was born June 21, 1954 in Guymon, Oklahoma the son of Floyd S. “Pappy” and Eula Mae Ketcherside Furr.
He grew up in Tyrone where he attended school and graduated from Tyrone High School with the Class of 1973. After graduation he began his lifelong work in the oil field.

Clara B. Gass, 72 year-old resident of Choctaw, OK, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Born April 10, 1942 she was the daughter of Clifford and Anna (Tower) Holder.
Clara was a longtime “Head Filler” at the Allergy Clinic Lab. She was very active in square dancing and loved crocheting; gardening; and other crafts.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents and by 1 sister.

Michael Alan Griffing, 53, passed away Monday morning, July 28th, 2014 at his home in Guymon.
The son of Alfred Lloyd and Ramona Jo (Scott) Griffing, he was born November 13, 1960 in Guymon.
Michael moved to Guymon from Mankato, Minnesota in 1972. He worked in the janitorial service for Panhandle Area Sheltered Workshop.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joyce Griffing.
