CHARLES W. HAYS JR.

Charles W. (Hoot) Hays Jr., 85, of Guymon, Oklahoma died at 2:28 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. He was born on August 20, 1929 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Charles W. and Mary Erma (Kerley) Hays. Charles lived in Okemah until he was eight years old when the family moved to Pampa, Texas. He attended school in Pampa until the family was transferred to the Cities Service Plant at Straight north of Guymon. He then attended school at Straight, Hooker, Oklahoma, and Guymon, Oklahoma.

Benton Douglas “Ben” Webb, 63, of the Eva Community, passed away Sunday morning, December 14, 2014 at the Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kansas.
The son of John and Bessie (Shores) Webb, he was born February 26, 1951 in Guymon. Ben attended Unity School and later, Edison School in Guymon and was a member of the James Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bessie Webb; a brother, Leon Webb; brother-in-law, Gordon Burton; nephew, Jim Webb; and special care taker, Loretta Smith.

Funeral services for Monte Brent Smith, 80, of Canton, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Canton Christian Church with Steve Driskill officiating. Interment will follow in Canton Cemetery under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

Charles W. "Hoot" Hays, 85, of Guymon passed away Saturday afternoon, December 13, 2014 in Amarillo, Texas.

Memorial services will be conducted Friday morning, December 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel with Rev. Odie Nunley officiating. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Donald Jack Wilson, 51, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014.
Funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday, December 15, 2014 in the Minton Memorial Chapel under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive guest Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 5-7 p.m.
Donald was born April 12, 1963 in Borger, Texas to Jo Ann Klaus and Benny Wilson. He loved football specifically the Dallas Cowboys and wrestling. Donald was a rigger by trade and loved all it encompassed, especially the crane operating and being up high.

Portland, Oregon resident, Glenn Rodman died on November 22, 2014. A memorial service is being held on December 21 at 2:00 pm at Lake Bible Church in Lake Oswego, OR.
Glenn was born in Guymon, Oklahoma on December 21, 1936, to Gladys Marie (Newsom) Henderson and Glenn Thomas (Louie) Henderson. Richard Rodman was the “father” in his life from the time he married Glenn’s mom until his death in 1971. When Glenn turned 21 he took the legal steps necessary to be adopted as Richard’s son.

MARGARET MAY HOWELL

Margaret May Howell passed away Monday, December 8, in Liberal, Kansas, at the age of 83 years. She was born November 3, 1931 in Clayton, New Mexico, one of nine children born to Mary Margaret Neatherlin and James Howell. Her father nicknamed her Bobbye.
She graduated from Clayton High School and, the day after graduation, was hired by the Union County Leader newspaper as a proofreader. Following her mother’s death in 1952, she and her sisters moved to Hooker, Oklahoma, where she worked at the First National Bank.
