Naomi G. Parsons, 99, longtime Texhoma resident, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Satanta Long Term Care Center in Satanta, Kansas.
The daughter of Guy H. and Emma Jane (Pruitt) Pittman, she was born September 25, 1915 in Wayne County, Illinois. She was the eldest daughter of 10 children. Growing up, she enjoyed spending her time helping care for the home and her siblings. She worked at a shoe factory in Chicago, Illinois.

MADGE SOLBERG COBB

Guymon, Oklahoma – Madge Solberg Cobb, 59, passed away Friday February 27, 2015, with her family surrounding her at the Hansford County Hospice, Spearman, Texas.
The daughter of Elizabeth Ellen Britt Ammons and Mitchell Jefferson J. Ammons, Sr., Madge Marie was born June 30, 1955 at Fort Riley, Kansas, moving to Guymon at a young age. She relocated to Jacksonville, Florida and then returned home to Guymon. She was married to Benjamin Thomas Cobb on April 1, 1999 and Madge and Ben reared their families and had much joy in their lives.

Longtime Guymon resident, Asa Howard, passed away Sunday morning, March 1, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Texas County following a brief illness.

Eustaquio Ponce, 73, of Guymon passed away Wednesday evening, February 25, 2015 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon.
The son of Francisca Acuna and Jose Ponce, he was born September 20, 1941 in Rodeo, Durango, Mexico. Eustaquio and Maria Zapata were united in marriage and have enjoyed 44 years together.
The Ponce family moved to the Oklahoma Panhandle from Juarez, Mexico in 1973. Mr. Ponce was engaged in farming, as well as owning and operating Ponce’s Taxi Service in Guymon. He was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church.

JOHN PETE AGUIRRE

John Pete Aguirre, 56, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 at his home here in Guymon.
The son of Mary Lou (Magana) and John Pete Aguirre, he was born February 26, 1958 in Yuma, Arizona. Pete was raised by his father. Pete travelled and worked as a lumberjack and was a plumber. He moved from Idaho to Guymon; was a devoted Christian and enjoyed reading.

E. L. (Pete) Speegle, 68, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at his home here in Guymon.
The son of William Oliver and Velma (Warren) Speegle, Elmer Lucien Speegle was born January 23, 1947 in Yellville, Arkansas. Pete was a lifelong resident of Guymon. He participated and enjoyed several sports in school. Pete worked for Adams Hardfacing for many years and later in the oilfield.
Survivors include his sister, Velma Newberry and husband, Skip, of Granite, Oklahoma; brother, Bill Speegle and wife, Kathy of Abilene, Texas; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

EVELYN MARIE SHAFFER

Evelyn Marie Shaffer, 78, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Monday afternoon, February 23, 2015 at the Childers Place in Amarillo, Texas.
The daughter of Archie and Carrie (Delay) Livengood, she was born December 6, 1936 in Lewis, Kansas. Evelyn attended school in Lewis, graduating with the Class of 1954.
She was united in marriage to Harold Shaffer on March 18, 1956 in Clayton, New Mexico. They made their home in Hooker, moving to Guymon in 1964. Evelyn was a homemaker and member of the First Christian Church.

ORA OLNEVA BURNS

Ora Olneva Burns, age 102, died peacefully at her home near Keyes, Ok. on February 6, 2015.
Ora was born March 9, 1912 in Trinidad, Co. and was the fourth child of Henry Alexander and Nellie Loomis Hagan. They burned cow chips to heat their dugout. She was no stranger to milking cows, herding cattle barefooted or working hard on the farm. It was just a part of life. She completed grade school at Lone Star, a few miles from their home. She graduated from Wichita High School. Ora attended college at PAMC, now PSU, in Goodwell, OK and received her permanent teacher’s certificate.
