Worker dies in accident at Seaboard Plant

Guymon EMS responded to an accident at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the Seaboard Foods Plant in Guymon.
According to reports provided to The Guymon Daily Herald, a male employee fell onto a shaft and died at the plant's rendering department.
The employee's name has not been released.
"We are deeply saddened by this tragedy, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and friends," said Seaboard President and CEO, Terry Holton.
Once the plant learned of the accident, the rendering department immediately shut down and enacted emergency response protocols.
"We have pledged our full cooperation with the authorities’ ongoing investigations to ensure safety protocols and processes were and continue to be followed, and also have launched an internal investigation to help determine the facts," Holton said. "We are making arrangements to provide counseling services for those employees affected by this unfortunate accident."
