...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO
9 PM CST SATURDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AMARILLO HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW ALONG WITH A MIXTURE OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 PM CST SATURDAY.

* EVENT...SNOW TOTALS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE NORTHEAST TEXAS PANHANDLE AND CENTRAL AND EASTERN OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE. IN ADDITION...LIGHT ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF LESS THAN ONE TENTH OF AN INCH WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE.

* TIMING...A WINTRY MIX OF MOSTLY FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET WILL BEGIN TONIGHT AND TRANSITION TO MOSTLY SNOW BY SATURDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE DAY SATURDAY. ALL PRECIPITATION WILL END SATURDAY NIGHT.

* IMPACTS...THE WINTRY PRECIPITATION COULD CREATE HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS ESPECIALLY WITH ANY FREEZING RAIN THAT FALLS OR SNOW ACCUMULATIONS.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR
FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
