...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM THURSDAY TO 12 AM CST
FRIDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AMARILLO HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER
ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM THURSDAY TO 12 AM
CST FRIDAY.

* EVENT...LIGHT SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THE WESTERN OKLAHOMA
PANHANDLE AND FAR NORTHWEST TEXAS PANHANDLE SHORTLY BEFORE MIDNIGHT
TONIGHT...WITH ONLY MINIMAL ACCUMULATIONS EXPECTED AT FIRST. AFTER
4 AM THURSDAY...SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES...WITH
LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS UP TO 5 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL FALL MAINLY BETWEEN 4 AM THURSDAY AND 12 AM
FRIDAY BEFORE TAPERING OFF FROM NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST.

* IMPACTS...THE SNOW MAY CAUSE ROADWAYS AND BRIDGES TO BECOME ICY AND
SNOW-PACKED...LEADING TO HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. IN
ADDITION...DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS...AS LOW AS 15 BELOW ZERO
WILL BE POSSIBLE DURING THE OVERNIGHT AND MORNING HOURS THIS WEEK.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR
FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
