Suspect Charged with Capital Murder Of Baby

SPEARMAN, Texas - A neighboring county in Texas is grieving as Spearman Police, the Hansford County Sheriff’s Department, and Texas Rangers all took part in investigating the death of an 11-month-old. 
The Guymon Daily Herald was able to obtain information saying the suspect is in jail and charged with capital murder.
He is being held on $1 million bail.
The baby’s mother is Rebecca Covalt of Spearman, and the suspect is Covalt’s boyfriend, Andrew Johnson of Spearman.
Johnson allegedly assaulted the infant while Covalt was at work late Thursday evening, and the infant passed away in the early morning hours after being airlifted to Amarillo.
