Panhandle Bible Center presents Johnny Ray Watson. God has gifted Johnny Ray with a beautiful voice. His smooth, southern gospel style is artistically marvelous and spiritually moving and will bless and refresh you like few vocalists can.
Those who hear him sing often remark how truly blessed they feel by his music. One word best describes Johnny’s music…anointed.
Johnny’s sincere love for people and comfortable country personality make him seem like an old friend.
He comes by this naturally. He was raised in small town Lorenzo, Texas, population 1,500, by loving Christian parents.
He’s known Jesus as his Lord and Savior since the age of 12. His Christian faith has held since childhood.
Inspired by his great grandfather, Rev. Joe Street, confounder of the first black church in Lorenzo,
Johnny Ray has committed his life to a full-time evangelistic music ministry. For the past 35 years, Johnny Ray Watson has ten the featured artist by some of America’s great ministries, including the Billy Graham Crusades,
The America for Jesus Rallies, Moody Bible Institute, Bill Glass Prison Ministries, the Professional Athletes Outreach, and numerous churches and small organizations.
His itinerary has included appearances in Asia, Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. Johnny Ray lives in Bastrop, Texas with his wife Brinda Kay, and family. He served as Artist-in-Residence and Musical Ambassador at Riverbend Church in Austin, Texas.
