Erikk Burton Is Rotary Boy Of The Month For January

Erikk Burton is the son of Ken and Karlen Burton and the grandson of Carl Tilus and the late Joyce Tilus of Mansfield, Ohio and the late Riley Burton, Sr. and Velma Burton of Newton, Mississippi.He is a member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church. Erikk is a 12 year senior at Guymon High School where he has been a member of the Business Professionals Association and the French Club. Erikk has been on the academic team since fifth grade. He has participated in the Tournament of Champions Scholastic Tournament sponsored by the Oklahoma Association for Academic Competition since the sixth grade and has qualified for the state championship in at least one subject every year of participation. Erikk is a three year letterman in academics. He is currently attending Guymon High School and is a concurrent student at Oklahoma Panhandle State University. He has taken Advance Placement and Honors classes whenever possible to better prepare for university life.
When Erikk graduates from high school, he plans to attend a university and study physics, ultimately attaining a Ph.D. He has looked at Ohio State University, the University of Tulsa, the University of Texas at Dallas and Oklahoma State University. At this point, he is leaning towards Oklahoma State University, where he has already been accepted into the Honors College at the Stillwater Campus for the fall 2013 semester. Erikk would like to thank the Rotary club for the honor of being selected as the Rotary boy of the month.
