Injuries stifle Texhoma as Lady Devils lose in Boise City

BOISE CITY—A damaging second inning cost the Lady Devils a game to the Lady Wildcats Thursday night.
With three starters missing, the Lady Devils gave up 14 runs in the second inning as Boise City won 25-11.
Pitcher Bailey Talbert and catcher Tristen Green both sustained minor injuries while playing at Guymon Tuesday night and did not play at Boise City. Randi Yates was away and missed the Boise City trip.
“We’ll see how they got along over the weekend. We probably won’t play them Tuesday,” said head coach Greg Higgins. Texhoma plays Tyrone Tuesday and Boise City and Hooker for Districts at home on Thursday.
Infielder Tabra Elliott pitched in Talbert’s absence She hit a double, Texhoma’s only extra base hit.
“We played fine. We hit the ball and we had maybe one or two mistakes with base running errors,” Higgins said.
