Hooker takes both ends of doubleheader from Goodwell-Yarbrough

GOODWELL—Hooker won both ends of a doubleheader over Goodwell-Yarbrough on the Tornadoes’ home field Monday night.
The Lady Bulldogs won 14-9 and 10-3.
“In that first game we needed to stay away from the big inning. They got all 14 of their runs in one inning,” said Goodwell-Yarbrough head coach Gary Page.
Goodwell-Yarbrough’s Shaylee Kelso struck out two batters on Game 1.
Page said the only extra base hit was a double by Hooker’s Kyra Cathcart.
An attempt to reach Hooker head coach Terry Meade after the games was unsuccessful.
Goodwell plays the Guymon junior varsity and junior high teams at the Goodwell High School field today at 3:30 p.m.
Goodwell-Yarbrough junior high wins
The Goodwell-Yarbrough junior high team beat Hooker 5-0.
The Tornadoes’ pitcher, Paige Jones, struck out eight batters in the four-inning game.
