Guymon man killed in Monday morning auto accident

March 18, 2014

A two-vehicle accident Monday morning left one man dead and another uninjured.
Guymon Police Chief Michael Babb said the accident occurred Monday at 8:37 a.m. at NE 4th Street and U.S. Highway 54.
The accident involved a 2003 silver Chrysler driven by Arthur Anderson, 75, of Guymon, and a 1999 white Lincoln Navigator driven by a 49-year-old male, Babb said.
“The vehicle that was driven by Anderson was stopped at the stop sign at 4th Street,” Babb said. “The other vehicle was traveling eastbound on 54. The vehicle driven by Anderson pulled out in front of the vehicle driving on 54.”
Babb added Anderson was extracated from the vehicle with the assistance of the Guymon Fire Department. He was transported to Memorial Hospital of Texas County where he was pronounced dead.
Babb said the occupant(s) of Lincoln Navigator did not sustain injuries.
Funeral services for Arthur Anderson are pending and will be announced by the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
