Guymon’s dining options just got a little more broad with the addition of a steakhouse at the Best Western hotel on 601 NE Highway 54.
Margarita’s Steakhouse is the second restaurant put together by that name. The other Margarita’s Steakhouse is located in Perryton and is in its third year of business.
Margarita Tarango began cooking back in 1973 and worked in multiple restaurants as a cook for about 20 years. This is how she ended up meeting and partnering up with Subhir Patel who agreed that they should get together to create a restaurant and let her run it.
“I’ve been cooking and in the business for a long time,” said Margarita, “so it went really well in Perryton because everyone knew me.”
Margarita has a daughter, Michelle Limas, who lives in Guymon. Since the Perryton restaurant was doing so well, Subhir and Margarita decided to open one here and let her daughter run it.
“It just works really well,” said Subhir. “She really takes care of her side of the business and I take care of mine.”
This restaurant provides daily specials Sunday thru Friday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. as well as a lunch buffet. On Saturdays, there will be breakfast buffets from 6-10:30 a.m. There is also a Friday evening buffet available. On holidays, they will be providing special buffets as well.
They have a menu full of variety for all three meals of the day. Many recipes are Margarita’s own creations. She makes homemade breakfast biscuits and bread that is used throughout the day. She also makes her pancake mix from scratch as well as her infamous cinnamon rolls that are available every Thursday morning. The restaurant will take standing orders for large orders of cinnamon rolls. She also makes homemade deserts for your enjoyment.
Although Margarita won’t be here personally to cook the food since she is the head cook in Perryton, she is training the cooks here to do just as well.
The restaurant does take reservations and has a back room that can be split into two rooms for meetings and gatherings. They will be able to begin their catering and delivery starting in two or three weeks, as well as having a full bar available in the next week or two.
The hours for Margarita’s Steakhouse are from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 6 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
