Genevieve (Jean) Pearl Byers

Genevieve (Jean) Pearl Byers, 77, formerly of southwest Missouri, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, in Chesterfield, Mo. (St. Louis metro area). 
She was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Anderson, Mo., to Mark Elmer and Rose Ann (Watson) Michael.
Mrs. Byers grew up in southwest Missouri and had also lived in the Panhandles of Texas and Oklahoma, before moving to the St. Louis, area 23 years ago.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a nurse’s, aid and as a beautician in Guymon. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Cooties, and a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church in Hazelwood, Mo.
Genevieve is survived by a son, Ricky G. Byers of Florissant, Mo.: a daughter, Pamela Rose Freeman of Balko; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruby Porton, Miami, Okla. and Ruth Seager, Johnson, Kan.
She was preceded in death by a son, Russell Lynn Byers, and a grandchild.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, at Clark Chapel of Memories in Neosho, Mo. with burial following in Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery, south of Neosho. 
Pallbearers will be James Lee Byers, Johnnie Mac Freeman, Cody Bill Freeman, Nathan Clifford, JP (Paul) Williams, Mike Butler, George Ledford, and Harold Williams
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m.
Mrs. Byers requested flowers and/or contributions to a cancer organization.
