Donna Ray, 59, of Hooker, passed away Wednesday , June 22, 2011 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County
The daughter of Bill and Lucille (Hoskins) Jones she was born May 25, 1952 in South San Francisco, Calif. The Jones family moved to Hooker from Mariposa in 1970.
Donna and Steven Ray were united in marriage on May 5, 1972 in Hooker.
She was a homemaker, and member of the Hooker Church Of Christ. Donna was a restaurant owner, school cafeteria cook, seamstress and Texas County Juvenile Detention Center cook and mentor.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wendell and Billy Bob Johnson, and one grandson Ryan Anthony Ray.
Survivors include her husband, Steven of the home; three children, Chris Ray and wife Chandy of Oklahoma City, Tina Schechter and husband Scott of Hugoton, Kan., and David Ray and wife, Valerie of Hooker; seven grandchildren, Callie and Cael Ray, Ashlyn and Carson Schechter, Mackenzie, Madison and Hunter Ray.
Survivors also include one brother, Ronnie Jones and wife Lori of Enid; two sisters, Jolene Freer and husband Joe of Dallas, and Nila Johnson of Peta Luma, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place Saturday, June 25 at 10 a.m. at the Hooker Church Of Christ with John Maynard officiating. Interment will follow in the Hooker Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch- Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
The Ray family will greet friends Friday between the hours of 2 and 8 p.m. at the Hooker Church of Christ.
