Convention and Tourism Board proposes raising bed tax within City of Guymon

Discussions have been in the works with the Convention and Tourism Department of raising the hotel/motel lodging tax (bed tax) in Guymon from 3 percent – which it has been since the early ’90s – to 6 percent to better reflect neighboring communities. Although no one truly enjoys using the word “tax,” the purpose of the bed tax is to fund local economic development and convention and tourism.
