Blackwell praises opening of Guymon CNG Fueling Station

State Rep. Gus Blackwell today praised the opening of Guymon’s first compressed natural gas fueling station.
“One way to ensure our economic prosperity in Oklahoma is to continue to exploit our natural gas reserves by promoting compressed natural gas vehicles,” said Blackwell (R-Laverne). “In order for consumers to increasingly use natural gas, we must have the infrastructure in place and I am excited every time I see a new compressed natural gas station open.”
The Guymon station was opened by Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores in partnership with Chesapeake Energy Corporation. Compressed natural gas will be priced at $1.79 per gallon equivalent. The very first Love’s station was opened in Guymon. The city continues to be a proud pioneer in the opening of this new alternative fuel with the opening of the CNG fueling station, Blackwell said.
In addition to the Guymon location, Love’s plans to open compressed natural gas fueling stations in Altus, Chickasha, Guthrie, Lawton, Norman, Okemah, Oklahoma City and Pauls Valley. With these additional 10 stations, Oklahoma will have more than 70 public compressed natural gas fueling stations.
“I am proud to celebrate this station opening in Guymon. The Panhandle will now be part of Oklahoma’s extensive network of CNG stations. We thank Love’s and Chesapeake for offering a fuel that burns cleaner and is more affordable than gasoline.”
